Cult of Personality

Despite The Obama being deemed cool enough to play the babe-bangin' James Bond, some people aren't swept up with idolization of our President Elect. From Peter Hitchens (h/t B5):
The swooning frenzy over the choice of Barack Obama as President of the United States must be one of the most absurd waves of self-deception and swirling fantasy ever to sweep through an advanced civilisation. At least Mandela-worship – its nearest equivalent – is focused on a man who actually did something.

I really don’t see how the Obama devotees can ever in future mock the Moonies, the Scientologists or people who claim to have been abducted in flying saucers. This is a cult like the one which grew up around Princess Diana, bereft of reason and hostile to facts.
Does this mean he's not doing the "Celebrate Good Obama, Come On!!" dance?

Yes, Anonymous. How did you guess? Actually, the head of the White Aryan Resistance endorsed Obama...not that it has anything to do with the price of tea in China, but it's odd.

Of course, Obama invoked a Cult of Personality it was obvious from the start. What people are unwilling to accept is that every politician uses this technique from Ron Paul (whom I agree with on many issues) to Sarah Palin (whom I agree with on nothing).

It's just each side recognizes the non-skeptical thinking in the other side but not there own.
